Difference Between Hajj and Umrah


Umrah and hajj both are one of best way of worship and asking from ALLAH to refrain all of our sins. Both should be perform in Makkah. Nobody can perform without visiting Holy Makkah and nobody can perform umrah for other but under some conditions. Now there are some difference between umrah and hajj.

Days Difference:
Umrah can be perform in one day while the hajj need 40 days to complete for complete umrah you can expand it to 4 days but you can't reduce hajj duration from 40 to less than 40 days.

Time Difference:
Umrah can be perform throughout the year while people like to perform it during Ramadan at the other hand you can perform hajj only ones in the year which is at the last month of the Islamic year. During first month of Islamic calendar umrah stop for some time.

Obligations Difference:
Umrah is not compulsory for every Muslim but Hajj is compulsory for every Muslim under some circumstance like financially they are able to perform, age requirement, mehram requirement, and health.

Stoning Difference:
During hajj it is obligatory part to throw seven stones on shaitan in place called Mina but in Umrah there is no need to throw the stones without it umrah is acceptable.

Slaughtering Animals:
During hajj it is compalsary to sacrifice the animals in the way of Allah but during umrah there is no need to sacrifice any animal but only the head of the family is responsible not everyone.

Umrah and Hajj Packages:
During umrah and hajj there are need to get facilities before preparation so mostly Muslims going for umrah and hajj packages some of them are cheap umrah packages and some are expensive the packages contains of following facilities, security, friendly environment, transportation, guideline, food, classes about hajj procedures, information about ziarat, and stay near Khana Kaba. Some of Muslim can't book umrah packages due to short stay they can manage by own but hajj must need other person who can manage your tour and provide all facilities by which you can get comfort and time for worship.
